Black Rhino Foundation, Inc. and Sister Hazel team up for Benefit at House of Blues — Chicago

CHICAGO, IL — The Black Rhino Foundation, Inc. (BRF), a not–for–profit wildlife organization that helps support efforts to save the endangered black rhino, announces a benefit concert with the rock band Sister Hazel, 8:00pm, Friday, August 21, 1998 at the House of Blues, Chicago.

The benefit will assist the BRF in funding rhino research in the U.S. and protective parks and sanctuaries in Kenya and Zimbabwe. The Foundation has assisted in funding facilities which require 24 hour armed guards, electric fencing and surveillance equipment. In the last 25 years over 90% of the species has been killed by poachers, with less than 2,500 remaining today. The rhino's horn, the target of the poaching efforts, is used primarily in traditional medicine in Asia. Scientific studies have found that the horn holds no real healing properties.

Sister Hazel (Universal) has been on tour in support of the album, Somewhere More Familiar, which has charted the number one with the single "All for You" on the Hot AC charts. Tickets for the all ages show are on sale for $15.00 through Ticketmaster, 312–559–1212 and the House of Blues, 312–527–2583. Presenting sponsor of the show is Platinum Wildlife Foundation. For more information on the benefit or the BRF please contact John Marcinek at 312.543.6802.
